Middle school programme at Chantemerle
Swiss academic preparation
Effective preparation for high school
Chantemerle proposes a demanding, comprehensive and internationally recognized programme. Inspired by the French curriculum our programme meets the requirements of the Plan d’Etudes Romand (PER).
Secondary school students prepare for admission to the Swiss Matura programme. With the support of a career guidance specialist, Chantemerle also assists students in their search for an apprenticeship by preparing them for vocational school entrance tests.
Our students are prepared in the best possible conditions, as demonstrated every year by our excellent results in national and cantonal exams.

An effective and structured teaching approach
A demanding and comprehensive official curriculum
Chantemerle secondary curriculum is organized around 5 key domains that are common to both the French and Swiss programmes:
- Languages to communicate effectively. French as 1st language, English and German as 2nd languages.
- Methods to learn more effectively and become autonomous
- Mathematical thinking and the scientific approach to better understand the world.
- Space and time. History and geography, philosophy and religion.
- Responsible citizenship. Chantemerle’s “School of life programme”
To meet the needs of all our students, an advanced preparation program (math/physics, French and German) is open to all students who wish to continue their upper secondary studies and prepare for the Swiss Matura. Likewise, personalized support hours are offered to students with learning difficulties (dys-, ADHD, HP children).
Exams prepared at the end of middle school
At the end of middle school, students at Chantemerle are prepared for several internationally recognized exams that assess academic progress and language proficiency. These exams serve both as benchmarks and stepping stones for future academic choices:
- French National General Certificate of Secondary Education
- Admission exams to enter Swiss public high school
- Language certifications:
- DELF (Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française)
- Cambridge English Qualifications
- Goethe-Zertifikat required
Year after year, our consistently high success rates in national exams reflect and validate the effectiveness of our approach.
