Founded and run by the Wegmüller family since 1966, Chantemerle is a private, international boarding school located in Switzerland. Our school welcomes Swiss and international students ages 6 to 18 for academic school year, French immersion as well as for Summer programmes.
Chantemerle is a school in the spirit of Switzerland: traditional, personalized and efficient. Over the years, we have developed a unique educational model centered around a healthy and balanced lifestyle, core values and the culture of effort.
Our school is beautifully located in nature, overlooking Lake Geneva and close to Vevey, Montreux, Fribourg, Lausanne and Geneva. Known for its warm family atmosphere, Chantemerle offers a balanced and structured environment preparing students for success in both their academic and personal lives.
Automatic access to Swiss universities
Swiss pathway preparing for the Swiss Federal Matura
Chantemerle proposes the Swiss academic curriculum from primary school to high school.
Investing in a Swiss education is always considered wise. The prestigious Federal Matura is the only diploma that gives automatic access to Swiss universities. Swiss universities are highly reputable and accessible at very low fees when compared to universities in the UK or the US. The Swiss Matura diploma is also very well recognized internationally, in the US and in the UK.
The Matura is primarily taught in French, emphasizing proficiency in the French language. However, the programme is also open to international students who are new to French; they learn French intensively in our French immersion programme and prepare for the bilingual (French/English) option of the Matura.

A solid alternative to the IB diploma
Cambridge International preparing for IGCSE and A-Levels
Accredited by the Cambridge International Examination Board, Chantemerle offers an international programme in English. Upper secondary prepares students for the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) followed that can be followed by A-Level qualifications.
Students can also join this pathway for one semester or one year as part of an English immersion programme.
The Cambridge International programme is particularly well suited to athletes or performing artists who need the flexibility to follow intensive training and take part in top-level competitions without falling behind in their studies.

Chantemerle Boarding and Day School
With a capacity limited to 65 students, Chantemerle offers an inspiring experience in a healthy and well-balanced family setting. Chantemerle welcomes Swiss and international students as 5-day or 7-day boarders. A day school solution for local families, Chantemerle also welcomes day students from Blonay, Vevey, Châtel St Denis, Montreux, Aigle and the region.
