Academic Classes
Communicate confidently in English, French or German
2 to 5-week sessions from June 25th to July 30th 2023. The language program at Chantemerle is designed to improve students’ language skills. In line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, the program is structured around a progression plan with clear objectives. Regular tests and evaluations allow us to place each student according to his/her age and language level (from A1 to C1). Surrounded by experienced native teachers, the student progresses quickly and confidently.
The program also aims at developing students into 21st century learners. Through relevant and purposeful project-based assignments, students improve their language and personal skills :
- They become confident in their ability to communicate and collaborate in the language studied
- We encourage creativity, asking them to seek solutions in new and creative ways
- We teach them to think critically, research and debate by defending their ideas in public.
Innovation and Leadership
2-week session from July 16th to July 30th 2023. As a society, we are facing great challenges today, whether it’s climate change, health or poverty. But where to start ? Clearly, it is the young people of today, working together, who will shape the world of tomorrow.
As many as 1.8 million people die each year from diarrhea linked to bad water and sanitation, most of them under age 5. Clean water solutions don’t have to be expensive. Let’s imagine simpler technologies that would be accessible to as many people as possible. This “low-tech” vision is the one put forward this year in our “Engineers for a better world” programme 2023.
In an engineering and entrepreneurial spirit, participants of this programme learn to design, build and implement water purification solutions that are accessible and sustainable.
From the idea to the project, from the project to its realization, a program to make our world a better place.
Build confidence in mathematics
2-week session from July 2nd to July 16th 2023. It is our responsibility as teachers to help students to feel confident in their mathematical abilities. When students possess this confidence, little stands in the way of their mathematical development.
In this program, we provide students ages 11 to 17 with the keys to consolidate their basic maths skills. Most importantly, we also encourage them to look at math problems in a completely different way, accepting failure as a chance to learn and grow. In small groups, supervised by dedicated and experienced teachers, students learn to reflect and think, “Where did I go wrong, what can I do better next time?”.
