Boarding at Chantemerle school
Growing together in a caring community
Boarding school life
With a maximum capacity of 60 boarders, Chantemerle’s boarding program offers a unique experience in a healthy, family-like, and personalized environment.
In a complex and fast-changing world, our students find at Chantemerle a space to slow down, disconnect, and regain balance. Through simple, practical daily routines, as well as through sports and artistic activities, children and adolescents build self-confidence and develop autonomy.
Boarding life also provides valuable opportunities for personal growth. Even more importantly, at Chantemerle, students learn to live together with a spirit of solidarity and respect. When they leave Chantemerle, our graduates carry forward into adulthood the sense of friendship and community that defines our school.
A healthy family-like community
A personalised and structured boarding environment
At Chantemerle, the boarding facilities provide a warm and secure environment where every child feels comfortable and protected.
- The Wegmüller family and their team of educators are present 24/7 to ensure the smooth running of boarding life. An on-site school nurse looks after the students’ well-being and health. Simple community rules help create a happy and healthy environment.
- Comfortable rooms accommodate 2 to 3 students
- A home-style kitchen serves balanced, homemade meals prepared with fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
- The weekly schedule is carefully balanced between academic classes, practical and artistic workshops, sports, excursions, and cultural visits.
- Digital well-being is a priority: students are guided to disconnect and have limited screen access to promote focus and balance.
The power of simplicity in education
The School of Life programme at Chantemerle
At Chantemerle, we believe that a child grows and thrives best in simplicity.
For us, simplicity means providing a structured daily routine, simple and repeated rituals, practical workshops in nature, and community projects. This approach helps children become autonomous, attentive, curious, and self-confident.
Fully integrated into the academic curriculum and assessed as a distinct discipline, the School of Life programme supports academic performance by strengthening attention and perseverance, skills essential for sustainable learning.
In a world of screens and artificial intelligence, our School of Life programme guides children to develop a healthy, conscious, and balanced relationship with technology.
A balanced environment for mind and body
Personal Development: Movement, Art, and Nature
Through sports, artistic, and cultural activities, our students develop essential values and skills such as creativity, respect for others, a strong work ethic, and teamwork.
Their personal development is further enriched through museum visits, cultural outings, and active involvement in the local community. These experiences broaden their horizons, spark curiosity, and strengthen their sense of engagement and openness to others.
The sports traditionally offered at Chantemerle include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, archery, swimming, running, and team sports. Wednesday afternoons are dedicated to hands-on and outdoor activities, while Friday afternoons focus on visual and performing arts.
Through its sport-art-study programme Chantemerle also supports the integration of young talents into league clubs and artistic academies. Students benefit from tailored schedules that allow them to train regularly and participate in official competitions with Swiss licenses, while continuing their academic studies :
- Sports academies: football, basketball, tennis, golf, horseback riding, skiing, ice hockey
- Arts schools: ballet school, music conservatory (piano, violin, cello)
- Personalized coaching programmes can also be arranged upon request.
