Chantemerle offers study abroad programmes from one month to one year for students aged 12–16. The programme combines strong academics, language immersion, and cultural discovery in a safe international boarding environment.

Students join small classes, follow a personalised learning plan, and receive close support from experienced teachers. French and English immersion are central to the programme, with additional subjects such as History, Science, and Maths taught in either language.

Programmes can be aligned with the student’s home curriculum to ensure academic continuity.

Academic programmes

Learning French is one of the main objective of the immersion programme. Students study French intensively and participate in Maths, Science, History, or Geography classes in French. The programme is designed to be innovative and communication-oriented, placing real-life interaction at the heart of learning. Students build fluency and confidence through dynamic activities, cultural experiences, and authentic exchanges, making French a natural part of their daily lives.

Courses from Chantemerle’s Cambridge IGCSE / A level curriculum can also be proposed to students interested in improving their English language competences.

German language being Chantemerle 2nd language The immersion programme can also include German language courses.

At Chantemerle, students can prepare for internationally recognized language certifications in French (DELF), English (Cambridge), and German (Goethe). These certifications validate language proficiency and open doors to top universities and international opportunities.

French integration for international students: pathway to the Swiss Matura​

Chantemerle’s Swiss pathway prepares Swiss and international students for the Swiss Federal Matura Diploma, taught in French. For students new to French, the French Integration Programme offers 1–2 years of intensive French alongside core subjects, helping them reach B1 level, gain confidence, and transition smoothly into the Swiss high school curriculum.

At Chantemerle, the ideal age to enter the Swiss academic pathway is between 12 and 15 years old, allowing international students enough time to learn French and build a strong foundation in mathematics and science before progressing to high school.

After-school adventures & sport activities

At Chantemerle, learning continues well after class. Our Study Abroad students enjoy a rich variety of after-school activities that promote balance, well-being, and personal growth.

From team sports and creative workshops to outdoor adventures, every student can discover new passions or deepen existing ones. Students looking to train more seriously, can join one of our professional swiss league clubs and academies in football, tennis, golf, horseback riding, and more.

In Winter, our unique location near the Swiss Alps (local resorts : (Portes du Soleil, Villars, Zermatt) gives students access to skiing and snowboarding, with regular outings in the mountains.
