French language : an opportunity for international students
While the Swiss Matura is taught in French, what may seem like a challenge quickly becomes a powerful opportunity. Chantemerle specializes in preparing international students for the Matura. Students receive the right support and immersion to gain academic fluency in French, as well as English and German, opening doors to top universities in Switzerland and abroad.
Advanced programme in mathematics / physics
The students aiming at the prestigious Swiss engineering schools (EPFL, ETH) are encouraged to follow a reinforced Matura programme in mathematics and physics. As an option, we also offer the possibility of preparing for the French Baccalaureate with a focus on maths/physics on year 2 of the core curriculum.
A stimulating study environment
Born from the experience and educational success of Chantemerle, LemanMaturite is an independent spin-off dedicated to preparing students for the Swiss Matura diploma. Located in Vevey, LémanMaturité welcomes around 30 students in a pleasant, modern, and bright study environment, just a 10-minute walk from the train station.
A demanding and comprehensive curriculum
Chantemerle prepares for the Swiss Federal Matura in 3 years.
The Swiss Matura is a comprehensive and selective diploma programme that opens the door to a wide range of higher education opportunities both in Switzerland and abroad. Its interdisciplinary curriculum promotes student autonomy, a broad cultural understanding, and sharpens critical thinking skills.
Examinations are administered by the Swiss Matura Commission (CSM) and cover 12 examination subjects. In order to obtain the diploma, students must also complete a personal research project: the Matura project, which we monitor as part of our training courses.
The Matura also exists as a bilingual diploma (bilingual French-English). Students taking the bilingual option take history and geography as well as the complementary option (philosophy or advanced maths) in English. They also have the option of writing their Matura thesis in English. This bilingual option places international, english-speaking students in a better position to complete their Matura.
