Weekends and exeat periods
Not all UK boarding schools provide seven-day boarding. Some operate weekly or flexible boarding arrangements, and students may need to leave school during weekends or designated exeat periods. International families may therefore need to arrange accommodation, travel or a guardian during these periods. UK immigration rules also distinguish between full boarding and weekly boarding arrangements.
Guardianship
International students younger than 17 attending a UK boarding school must also have a UK-based educational guardian, particularly when they cannot remain at school during certain periods. This represents an additional cost that families should factor into their overall budget.

What is the difference between five-day and seven-day boarding?
